Role Description
We are seeking a qualified and safety-conscious Second in Command (SIC) to support flight operations under 14 CFR Part 135. The SIC will assist the Pilot in Command in all aspects of flight preparation and execution, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures. This role is ideal for pilots looking to build experience in charter operations while contributing to a high-performing flight team.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pilot in Command in the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
  • Participate in pre-flight planning, including reviewing weather, NOTAMs, and aircraft performance data.
  • Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure aircraft readiness.
  • Monitor aircraft systems and performance during flight, communicating effectively with the PIC.
  • Maintain situational awareness and assist in navigational duties and radio communications.
  • Adhere to all FAA Part 135 regulations, company SOPs, and safety protocols.
  • Participate in post-flight duties, including documentation and debriefing.
  • Maintain current required licenses and certificates in compliance with the company, ICAO (as applicable) and FAA requirements.
  • Complete all required training, check rides, and recurrent evaluations.
  • Support a culture of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

 Qualifications

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating.
  • Current Second-Class Medical Certificate (First-Class preferred).
  • Meet 14 CFR Part 135 SIC eligibility requirements, including:
    • Total Time: 1500 hours
    • Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
  • Strong understanding of aeronautical decision-making, CRM, and FAA regulations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must pass background check, company training and pre-employment drug screening in compliance with the DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program under 14 CFR Part 120 & 49 CFR Part 40.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Part 135 operations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Type Rating preferred
